FAQ

What is the difference between ultrasonic cavitation and liposuction?

The Ultrasonic Cavitation has a similar result as liposuction. It removes cellulite and excess fat. preventing this from recurring in the treated areas, without damaging the vascular system. The procedure is painless and is very inexpensive compared to the thousands of dollars you could spend on liposuction.

What after care regimen must I follow for RF cavitation?

Essentially, Ultrasound Fat Cavitation is designed to destabilize and break down fat into carbohydrates and waste material. If not followed by exercise and plenty of water, the destabilized fat will reform and resettle.
Think of the process in simple terms. Fat and sound waves. If you put a tub of butter in the microwave and heat it, the butter destabilizes into liquid. If you leave it to sit however, it solidifies again.

The same applies to this treatment, and that’s why cardiovascular exercise and water are vital.

Cardio afterwards serves two purposes; to burn off the released carbohydrates, and to encourage the contraction and expansion of lymphatic vessels to channel out waste. Meanwhile, the water acts to thin that waste and to hasten its removal from the body through the urine.

What regimen must I follow before an RF or cavitation treatment?

Try to avoid doing anything that will irritate your skin immediately before treatment. This includes tanning (natural or artificial). It would be more likely to suffer pain from the addition of heat to the already damaged skin; however, an established tan would be fine.

Do not have a hot shower, bath or sauna right after the Ultrasound treatment.

We recommend a low-calorie diet with protein in each meal and drink at least a glass of warm water (not carbonated, sparkling water, pop, coffee) before and after the session. Drinking plenty of water and having exercise such as brisk walk, biking or other aerobic activities for at least 3 days after the treatment to stimulate the lymphatic activity as elimination of the fat continues through the Lymphatic System for 72 hrs. Follow by a suitable exercise routine. Cavitation will be best performed under high hydration conditions, avoid taking any caffeine or diuretics 2 days before therapy. Drink a lot of water will help to improve your metabolism and increase urine output — lipid metabolites release out of your body.

A lymph-draining massage is also encouraged to improve the circulation and lymphatic system, which helps to drain fluids.

For best results, you should refrain from any alcohol consumption for 48 hours after the treatment. Alcohol consumption during this period may prevent your liver from removing the deactivated fat cells from your body (as the liver will assign priority to remove the alcohol from your blood).

Maintain an un-stressful lifestyle also helps the body flush out the fat more efficiently.

Maintain a low-calorie diet for a few days following the treatment to ensure the energy released is properly utilised and metabolised by the body. Drinking water is a necessary part of the treatment to facilitate the elimination of broken-down fat.  After the treatment, patients are able to return to their daily activities as usual.

Are there any side effects?

There are rarely any side effects, however there maybe the slight possibility of some transient redness, excessive thirst or nausea immediately after the treatment which can be resolved by simply drinking water.

How long do I have to wait for another treatment?

The fat is eliminated from the body approximately 3 – 5 days following the treatment, therefore an interval of one week is recommended.

How many treatments will I need?

Between 8 – 12 treatments are recommended, however, you should experience significant results from the third session onwards.

Do I need to diet or exercise?

Drinking water is a necessary part of the fat elimination process so we recommend drinking 1.5 litres of water both before and after each session. A low-calorie diet and regular exercise should be maintained in order to aid the body in naturally passing the fat through its own natural filtration system.

How often should I have a cavitation treatment?

Ultrasound Cavitation: 6-12 sessions spaced 72 hours apart for the first 3 sessions, then once a week.

Skin Tightening: 6-12 sessions spaced 48 hours apart for the first 3 sessions, then once a week.

After the initial treatments are completed, maintenance treatments consist of one session each month for 4 months followed by one treatment every 4 months

What are typical long-term results?

Gradually over a number of weeks, the body will clear down the broken down fatty tissues which will result in a volume reduction of fatty tissues.  It is not uncommon to achieve results of up to a 10 cm reduction in body mass by the end of the course of treatments.  These results will be long lasting, provided you follow a healthy diet and exercise programme.  If you overeat or consume too much alcohol, fat can easily be deposited back into the body.

When can I expect results?

The cavitation treatment yields immediate and long-lasting results. Ultra Cavitation is a very effective procedure that requires only 6-12 treatments per area. Most clients experience noticeable circumference reduction after a single session with increasing results after each visit. The results may vary with different tissue structures, treatment areas, ages, metabolism, medications, and changes in hormones. Proper diet and increased physical activity will certainly improve and help to maintain the results.
